A self-employed IT consultant of many years, I thought I had everything lined up to sail right on through to a comfortable retirement. Then, my 800-pound-gorilla client was sold to global multinational, and suddenly, the retirement outlook was bleak. I took a lower-level job with a large pay cut coming out of The Great Recession thinking it would just be short-term. Then discovered that it’s hard to get employers to consider candidates with as much gray hair as I have. Short term all-too-quickly became long term. Meanwhile…
My beloved wife, Paula, had discovered natural living. And I, through her, did as well.
And then we, together, discovered something else: I got checks! Every month, in gradually increasing amounts. Just for telling friends what we had discovered. We dug a little deeper and found this can become the (re)birth of financial independence—well beyond “comfortable retirement,” and I can bring my skill set to compliment her wisdom. Still underemployed at that same lower-level job, but the near future looks really bright!

For years I chased success as I died a little inside every day. As my paycheck grew with corporate America, my health declined.
My hair fell out. I became very overweight. I couldn’t sleep. Fatigue was my constant companion. Then I crashed into a severe autoimmune condition. I was in a terrible, life-changing head on car collision. A drunk driver hit me head on at freeway speeds while I was pregnant. Life, as I knew it, was over. I was prescribed medications with terrible side effects. Those were countered with even more medications. I became wheelchair bound. I felt hopeless, sick, and alone. One day I climbed up on the roof of our home, thinking of ending my pain. Realizing that my children would grow up without a mom, I knew I either needed to fix this or die.
Then I discovered natural living. It changed everything. The pain, fatigue, and depression were much more manageable. And the side effects from the prescription drugs were much relieved. I found several products that catapulted me to feeling better, and I will never go a day without them again. My wheelchair is long gone. I have good and bad days, but the days of wanting to die are behind me.
As a veteran hobby dog breeder, I wanted to apply what I had learned to our dogs. I found that the choices I made for myself have profound effects on our animals as well. I saw eyes brighten, lifespans increase, and chronic illness wane.
